The Brief: Majik House were commissioned to develop a bespoke lighting design for a secluded residence in a bustling market town. The homeowner’s main priority was to highlight the details of the unconventional architecture whilst staying concealed from the public eye.
The Solution: All of the lights throughout the property are LED low voltage and ultra-low power consumption, designed to not only emphasise the superb architecture of the building but to be totally sympathetic to the surroundings. We chose the Control 4 lighting solution to seamlessly cover all requirements and provide total flexibility of control. This system also controlled the in house multi-room audio and video systems.
Since completion the property has been shortlisted by the Royal British Institute of Architecture and was nominated for ‘House of the Year’. The award nominees were featured in a special series of programs by Channel 4’s Grand Designs.
