Alongside some of the local areas specialist in Fine Jewels and Artisan Ales.
Porsche don’t build everyday sports cars, they build sports cars for everyday use and Sunday 18th was a great opportunity to get up close and personal with arguably some of the most beautiful cars on the open road.
Porsche of Kendal roared into the Kirkby Lonsdale business park in a fleet of their exquisite vehicles. For the casual Sunday motorist being passed by this stream of throaty cars, it was not your regular spectacle but hopefully provided some wistful glances.
The models taking centre stage for the day were the brand new 718 Cayman straight off the production line, which Porsche describe as a “true athlete” of the car world. The 911 Boxster S in Miami Blue was also on display which seemed to be a huge hit with the crowds. Alongside these models were the 911 Carrera 2S, Macan and Cayenne Hybrid to complete the portfolio.
The showroom was alive with the all familiar sound of screeching tyres , compliments of the Grand Prix being streamed onto the Majik House’s award winning cinema. The night-time spectacular of the Singapore F1 looked fantastic on the Majik House’s latest 4K projector, and sounded even better on the Dolby Atoms audio system. The action was shown on all the Majik House screens including the new OLED 4K LG and the streamline Samsung Curve TV, making sure you were never a moment away from the action.
To compliment the exquisite cars on show we were delighted to welcome on board Banks Lyon of Lancaster to showcase a handpicked selection of jewellery, from Cartier Watches to dazzling diamond rings. The displays took centre stage in the Majik House Showroom and added an extra sparkle to the event. Banks Lyon MD Rodney was on hand with his expert advice to illustrate the jewels on display. Expertly trading since 1985 with a glittering array of products available to view it is little wonder that Banks Lyon has become such an established and well respected name in the watch and jewellery trade. Their presence certainly added a stylish and elegant quality to the occasion.
This year we were also lucky enough to be joined by Brian and Allison Coulthwaite from The Watermill at Ings. They brought along a varied selection of their beers brewed exclusively in their micro brewer
Ales were available to sample on the day including the appropriately named ‘Collie Wobbles’ ‘A Bit’er Ruff’ and the deceptively powerful little bottled ‘Shih Tzu Faced’. Luckily guests were only offered a taster!
Majik House’s resident photographer Stephen Barber was on hand on the day to capture the goings-on throughout the venue. All the images can be found on the website Gallery www.majikhouse.com/gallery
“It’s great to see the formation of four specialist local businesses showcasing their work together for such a successful event” says Sally Proctor, Majik House’s Events Manager. “We wanted to be able to offer something for everyone, the technology buffs, car enthusiasts, fine jewellery admirers and even those who just fancy a quick tipple”.
The event will be back next summer, bigger and better. Watch this space!
