Yesterday, Monday 15th June 2026, a piece of Majik House died as we lost Paul, a great engineer and a big part of the Majik House family.

For almost two years Paul battled with cancer and we all wanted to believe he had bossed it. But it wasn’t to be the case and it returned with a vengeance, but he continued to fight it right until the end.

Paul and Tim were the pioneers of all things Majik since he joined us in September 1999.

Paul was not only a huge asset to Majik House, but to the smart home industry as a whole. Our suppliers of technology would ask Paul to test new systems, and value and act upon his feedback.

As a big part of the Majik Family, Paul brought some incredible skills to the team that he willingly shared with all the people who have worked with him.

In addition, he had a loyal following of clients who would routinely sing his praises and, over these past months, have often called wanting to know how he was.

All of the above is testament to what a wonderful person Paul was with everyone with whom he made contact.

To Cathrine, Lauren, Alex and Sean as you work through your loss of Paul, we hope you take some comfort knowing that for the past 27 years Paul has been the best work colleague, an industry pioneer and a great friend, and he will never be forgotten.

Contemporary Woodland Retreat at Alderley Edge.

Working closely with the architect, the brief was not to reinvent the house entirely, but to refine it; retaining the existing footprint and structure, making modest changes to the internal layout, and allowing light, materials and surroundings to do the heavy lifting.

The result is a home that feels calm, grounded and quietly confident.

A Victorian Villa Reimagined in Hale.

Working alongside the lead contractor and interior designer, Majik House was brought in to deliver the smart lighting, audio-visual systems, networking and control throughout the newly unified home.

From the outset, the vision was clear: preserve the elegance of the original Victorian architecture while discreetly introducing smart home technologies.
